This tiny gem of an island was named after intrepid Dutch explorer Adriaen Block. Over the years, these white beaches have steadily drawn summer tourists, looking for a carefree "daycation". Block Island's popularity peaks every 4th of July.

Ride the Block Island Ferry from the mainland to get to the island. Not only is it one of the most breathtaking ferry rides you'll ever take, but you might also catch a glimpse of wild dolphins cavorting in the Atlantic Ocean.
