1. The Arab country of Jordan lies in Western Asia. It shares its borders with Saudi Arabia to the south and east, Iraq to the northeast, Syria to the north, and Israel and Palestine to the west.
2. Owing to its strategic location on the Asian, European, and African crossroads, it has a long history of foreign rule, international trade, and immigration.

4. Jordan was born when the Middle East was divided by England and France in 1922 after WWI.
