What makes a beach truly stand out? For some it's the scenic beauty, while for others it's not just the scenery, but the availability to explore sea creatures and nature to a whole new level. Let's take a look at a few beaches in Capetown loved for a variety of iconic features.
Boulders Beach
This beach is named after the huge granite boulders scattered all across the beach.

The main highlight of the beach is the African Penguins. The only penguins you'll come across on the African Continent.
Since these penguins are endangered, tourists are not allowed to go near them. Boardwalks are available to watch and photograph them from a distance.
Windsurfing and kite surfing are enjoyed here.

Clifton Fourth Beach
Most popular of the Clifton beaches, this beach is loved for its sugary white sand, calm waters and all facilities available.

All beach amenities right from outdoor showers, volleyball nets, sun loungers, etc. are available here. Calm waters attract a large crowd, however, it's a wonderful beach for all kinds of beach activities.
Known as the ideal sailing destination, this beach is iconic for its  catamaran cruises.
Although smaller in size, this beach is loved for its scenic settings and ideal surf waves.
Olifantsbos Beach

Nicknamed as 'Surfers Paradise', the beach is a haven for surfing enthusiasts.
An exciting feature of the beach is the shipwrecks scattered on the beach. Trail beginning at the beach called the Shipwreck trail will take you to these scattered pieces of history.
Cape Town's hidden gem, the beach has a breathtaking landscape. Unspoiled, soft, white sand dunes to stroll on.
Platboom Beach

Ideal for wind-surfing, kite-surfing, and sand boarding. No lifeguards here, so tourists need to be cautious.
Seabirds, ostriches, and lots of other birds can be spotted here. Ideal for photography enthusiasts.

Llandudno

The beach is known for its distinct granite boulders that add to its scenic beauty along with the mountain backdrop.
Ideal for surfing, however, not safe enough for swimming. Lifeguards are also not stationed throughout the year.
Loved for its 18 km long stretch of unspoiled beachfront and the gorgeous mountains as its backdrop.

Grotto Beach
The vast beachfront is ideal for sunbathing, picnics, volleyball, beach barbecues and parties, etc.
Humpback and Southern right whales are a common sight during the mating months. Whale watching boat trips give you a closer look at these magnificent creatures.
This beach offers a picture perfect view of Table Mountain and the iconic lighthouse.
Milnerton Beach

Clean and well-maintained beach. A wonderful beach for families.
