The name Looking Glass is because of the Looking Glass Rock where water freezes along its sides in winter and shines in the sunlight like a mirror or a looking glass.

Mingo Falls

This waterfall is located on the Mingo creek in the proximity of the Blue Ridge Parkway and the east entrance to Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It's also known as Big Bear Falls.

Bridal Veil Falls

It is the only waterfall in North Carolina where you can walk behind the waterfall. The volume of the waterfall is less unless its raining heavily.
