The water body sprawls across 364 hectares. Ideal place to relax and enjoy the rich wildlife. The scenery is glorious and visitors get to view the pond as well as the ocean. Picnicking is a popular activity here.
2. Sheerness Pool
A must see are the over 350 bird species that frequent this charming water body. It is recommended to head here in the spring season as this is the time that the migratory birds come back. Visitors have to hike through the Parsons Point Trail to reach this freshwater attraction.
3. Millsboro Pond
The 40 hectare water body is easily accessible and offers many amenities. It is famous as a great fishing destination. Revel in the picturesque scenery and the serenity here. Popular activities here include bird watching and kayaking.
4. Hoopes Reservoir
This is the state's largest reservoir available to the public since 1971. It boasts of pretty gardens and many walking trails. Enveloped by lush vegetation, it is perfect for those seeking a relaxing and quiet environment.
5. Killens Pond
This beautiful lake boasts of a full-fledged water park. Visitors can enjoy canoeing or kayaking in the lake. In winter, hiking and cross-country skiing are popular. An important attraction is a 18-hole disc golf course.
6. Lake Gerar
This is a relatively small freshwater lake offering a surfeit of things to do and attractions to view. A must-see is a gorgeous Italian Garden. There is a children's play area and picnic tables. Fishing and walking on the trails are popular activities.
7. Trap Pond
Interestingly, the lake was in the past extensive wetland. Go fishing in the lake or hike on the beautiful trails here. The popular destination is a bird lover's paradise. A camping ground is located at the north end of the lake. Look out for the magnificent bald cypress trees.
8. Records Pond
Also called Laurel Lake, it is enveloped by lush vegetation. It is popular as a fishing paradise. The waters are full of largemouth bass, catfish and other varieties of fish. Favorite activities here include paddle-boarding and kayaking.
9. Silver Lake
A great place for a picnic with many picnic tables and barbecue grills around the gorgeous lake. Fishing aficionados are drawn to the waters, which has an abundance of fish species. The 67.5 hectare water body boasts of a boat ramp and a lovely beach.
