Historic Wooden Roller Coaster: Luna Park's Cyclone
One of America's oldest roller coasters, the Cyclone first opened in 1927.
It was officially declared as a New York City landmark in 1988.
Opened in 1927 in Luna Park, today, this iconic roller coaster is one of Coney Island's main attractions. It's also amongst one of the steepest wooden roller coasters in the world.

Opened in 1920, this legendary, 150-feet tall Ferris Wheel or Wonder Wheel is a major tourist attraction at the island's Deno's Wonder Wheel Amusement Park. Wonder Wheel has also been designated as a New York City landmark.

Open year-round, this beach is a wonderful place to spend the day playing volleyball, sunbathing, swimming, etc., on the three miles shoreline.

Also known as the Riegelmann Boardwalk, this 2.7 miles walkway or promenade is another iconic feature of this peninsular island.

Touted as the birthplace of the hotdog, Coney Island is famous for its hotdogs, especially the ones offered by the legendary Nathan's Famous hot dogs.

Mermaid Parade
Largest art parade in America; Mermaid Parade held every June on the island's Boardwalk is a popularly-loved summer event in the city.
It's an annual parade initiated to celebrate mythology and artistic creativity. Over 3,000 contestants dressed in mermaid and mythical costumes participate in this event.
