Climb Cape Hatteras Lighthouse
The most iconic attraction of the island, visitors with height 42 inches and above, can climb the spiral staircase going up the lighthouse to get a mesmerizing view of the Atlantic Ocean!

Visit the Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum
The maritime museum mainly focuses on maritime history and North Carolina's culture. The inverted shipshape, curved timbers and porthole windows incorporated in the museum's architecture gives it a unique look.
Visit the Oregon Inlet Life Saving Station
Located among the sand dunes, the station cannot be currently viewed from inside by the public, but you can still take pictures of the iconic building from outside!

Take a ferry-ride to explore the undeveloped parts of the Hatteras village, the Hatteras inlet before finally docking at Ocracoke ferry docks. You may spot shorebirds and the temporary sandbar islands en route.
Explore the Ferry Transport
Experience the sight of transporting vehicles and goods by ferry in and out of the island. You can load your car on the ferry and watch it getting unloaded along with other items on board.
'Nights in Rodanthe' House
Though shifted further away from the actual spot, the house that was featured in the movie now serves as a vacation rental home. You can book a room in the 6-bedroom house to have a romantic view of the sea!
