Lisbon has some gorgeous and finest beaches in Portugal. There are beaches where waves crash against rugged cliffs, secluded beaches where you can surf, and calm beaches to take your family for a quiet and laid back vacation.

Areia Branca Beach
A perfect beach for those with an adventurous bone. Surfing, body-boarding are some water sports you can enjoy here. There is also a mini-golf course here for a round of golf.
Sao Juliao Beach
A beach in Sintra with 250 meters of sandy coastline, it is surrounded by cliffs. It is frequented by surfers and nature lovers. Climb up the cliffs to enjoy the view of Ericeira.
An amazing beach that nestles among the sandy cliffs and the forest of Serra da Arrabida National Park. Southern half of the beach is frequented by naturists who wish to get rid of their tanning line.
Meco Beach
However, if you want to enjoy the Atlantic ocean with a drink in hand, then walk to the northern side of the beach.
A quick drive from Lisbon is the Carcavelos beach that has a water sports school, space to try a hand at beach volley and beach soccer.
Carcavelos Beach
A great beach to visit with children. Its tranquil and shallow water makes it easy for children to take a swim. It has beach side restaurants, rentals and a good parking lot.
Figueirinha Beach

Surrounded by Serra da Arrabita, this beach is a piece of heaven on earth. White sandy beach with crystal clear turquoise waters is enclosed by the hills.
Tamariz Beach
Pristine white sand for a mile with emerald green waters is frequented by the locals & tourists alike. Grab a lounge chair to sunbath or watch the sea.
If you want to swim, walk towards the east end of the beach to Tamariz Ocean Pool.
Those interested in kite surfing and windsurfing, usually head towards to this beach.
Guincho Beach
"On Her Majesty’s Secret Service", a James bond movie was shot here. This is also a beach close to the Lisbon airport.
A scenic beach with the waves crashing on the rocks. The shoreline stretches over a length of 400 m. An ideal beach for sunbathing and fishing. Also make sure to visit the Pedra de Alvidrar caves.
