Located at the eastern end of the Santa Monica Mountains, Griffith Park is a large, popular municipal park.
It occupies the area of about 4,210 acres with a large variety of native plants and animals. Griffith Park offers wonderful family-friendly activities, giving you a memorable experience.

Griffith Observatory

Opened in 1935, this historic observatory rests in the southern slope of Mount Hollywood, which offers a mesmerizing view of Los Angeles and the Hollywood Sign.
Free telescopes are available for watching the planets and stars until 9.45 pm. The Public Star Parties are hosted, which give the details of the astronomical facts.

Zoo and Botanical Garden

The zoo consists of a huge variety of animals and plant species, categorized by geographical region.
The botanical garden has rare native species like Southern California black walnut, oak, lilac and sumac. The major animal highlights in the zoo include tigers, lions, skunk, mule deer, koala bears, great apes and a variety of amphibians and reptiles.

Travel Town Museum

It is a train museum, located on the northwest corner of Griffith Park.
It comprises a vast variety of train engines, cabooses, vintage trains as well as freight and passenger cars from different eras. You can enjoy a miniature train ride around the museum.

Horseback and Pony Rides

You can enjoy a trail ride in Griffith Park on the horseback and pony rides. You may select your rides from lime dinner rides, Hollywood Sign rides and twilight rides from three private stables in the park. Don’t miss a romantic experience of horseback ride to the Hollywood Sign.
It is an open-air amphitheatre, situated in the center of Griffith Park. Enjoy live music performances, plays and comedy shows throughout the year, along with a spectacular mountain view.

The Greek Theatre

Hiking

Griffith Park has a trail of about 53 miles. The most popular hike starts from the Griffith Observatory parking lot to the Mount Hollywood, which is the highest point of the park. This trail offers beautiful views of Los Angeles city, Observatory and the Hollywood Sign.

The Autry Museum of the American West

It is a must-visit place for those, who have special liking for culture, history and art.
Located across the street from LA Zoo, it contains a huge variety of film memorabilia, paintings, Native American art and a unique collection of props and costumes from Hollywood’s cowboys.

Golfing

There are two historic golf courses, dating back to the 1920s. You can enjoy golfing 18 holes at the Harding or Wilson golf courses. Both courses provide the amenities like golf shop, driving range and restaurant.
