Amazing Beaches in Kenosha County, Wisconsin

With an estimated population of 1,70,000, Kenosha is the eighth most populated county in the Wisconsin State of United States of America.
Although Kenosha County does not share any beachfront with the sea, it lies on the West of Lake Michigan and almost 64% of the total area is water.
This gives the residents a whole lot of area for lakefront beaches. So, let us check out some of the beaches which are worth a visit.
Simmons Island Beach
One of the very well-known beaches along the Lake Michigan shoreline, this beach offers magnificent view of the Kenosha Harbor.
Even though a lakefront, this beach has sand & waves which makes it ideal for surfing, para-sailing, paddle boarding & other beach activities.

The beach also has a boardwalk from the parking lot all the way up to the Kenosha North Pier Light.
Pennoyer Beach
Adjacent to the west of Lake Michigan, it is closer to the Wisconsin-Illinois border.
This beach also offers sand and has a park with bike trail, tennis courts and band shell for local events. The beach is however, not recommended for swimming.
Southport Beach

Located at an hour's drive from Milwaukee, this beach offers a playground, sports field and a picnic pavilion.
If you simply love walking, catching a breeze or just sitting watching the boats sail, this is your place to go, as it offers a beautiful view of the lake.
Eichelman Beach
Located between Simmons Island Beach and Southport Beach, it has a large park for visitors, and is adjacent to the Wolfenbutel Park.
The Eichelman Park also houses the 7” diameter World War I Era Siege Howitzer Cannon.
Lake Andrea
Planning to go fishing? Well, Lake Andrea has got some great spots for fishing.
It is located in the village of Pleasant Prairie, and offers visitors with a 2.3 mile paved path for walks, a beach and varied options for boating.
Paddock Lake Beach
Overlooking the sandy beaches of the lake, the Old Settlers Park has lot of shade trees, making it a perfect picnic spot.
The Beach offers BBQ grills, picnic tables and a lot more. There also happens to be a dog park next to the beach.

Silver Lake Beach
Being one of the most popular beaches in the Kenosha County, there is a park spread across 260-acres with a number of recreational activities to choose from.
Silver Lake Beach Park also offers a premier 18 - hole disc golf course.
Lake Mary Beach
Located towards the north of Lake Mary of the Twin Lakes, the beach lies in the village of Twin Lakes.
Lily Lake
Located in the town of Wheatland, Lily Lake is one of the smaller beaches in the Kenosha County. This beach is perfect for the ones who prefer a quiet beach.
Powers Lake
Another beach to go fishing, Powers Lake is located near the Wisconsin-Illinois border within Kenosha and Walworth counties.
This 451-acre lake is known for sailing, swimming, ice-skating and even skiing.
