Visitors will find many beaches in New Jersey's impressive 127 miles of beautiful coastline. We take a look at some of the beaches.
1. Keansburg Beach
This is an isolated beach pretty near Middletown. Enjoy a swim, strolls or fishing at this secluded attraction.
The attraction stands out for its spectacular views of New York City.  Unlike most of the other New Jersey beaches, visitors don't require a ticket or badge for beach visit.
2. Fisherman's Cove
Enjoy the rich variety of wildlife and birds here. Popular activities at this dog-friendly beach include jogging, boating and fishing.
The beach area is a significant 55 acres and a paradise for nature enthusiasts and the adventurous folk seeking a less crowded and peaceful location near the sea.
3. Atlantic City Beach
Offers ideal environment for water sports such as surfing and kayaking. Access is absolutely free for all.
The beach boasts of a world-famous boardwalk built way back in 1870. The iconic attraction offers amazing sea views on one side and great shopping on the other.
4. Avon by the Sea
The popular destination is accessible in all seasons and sits near Asbury Park. Amenities include plentiful free parking as well as restrooms.
It is a foodies paradise with umpteen restaurants and bars located on the close-by boardwalk. A beach badge is mandatory to enter the beautiful beach. Popular activities here include surfing and fishing.
5. Seven Mile Beach
Regarded as the state's best beach, the popular attraction is very clean. The beach sits between the quaint towns of Avalon and Stone Harbor.
Amenities for children include as many as nine parks as well as playgrounds. Popular activities here include paddle boarding, windsurfing, kayaking and more.
6. Wildwoods
Here there are wide and clean beaches available for free. Indulge in swimming, boogie boarding, surfing and other water sports.
The family friendly destination is popular for its white sandy beaches and amazing boardwalk. It is famous for its seafood restaurants and is the venue of over 200 festivals held across the year.
7. Sandy Hook Beach
Enjoy biking, fishing and swimming here. In summer, food trucks dish out delicious fare.
The beach destination  is popular as it is easily reachable. Visitors get to choose from as many as four pretty beaches. A must-visit attraction is the country's oldest operating lighthouse located in Fort Hancock.
8. Lavallette Beach
Here there are two exquisite white sand beaches and a fabulous boardwalk which stretches a mile in length.
Visitors need to obtain passes in advance to access this iconic destination. Indulge in surfing or swimming under the watchful eyes of trained lifeguards here. Other popular activities include fishing and crabbing.
9. Ocean Grove Beach
Offers excellent amenities such as showers, bathrooms as well as trained lifeguards. Visitors enjoy going for leisurely strolls on the lovely boardwalk.
Perfect for seekers of relaxation and peace. Participate in sandcastle building contests, kite flying or inner tube competition here. The beach is pet friendly and charges a modest fee to access.
