Lac d'Allos
  • It is the largest high-altitude lake in France, located in Mercantour National Park.
Majority of the portion of water of this lake comes from melting snow.
The area around is scenic and relaxing and you can also take a short hike, which is an amazing experience.
Gaube Lake
Surrounded by the highest mountain, Mount Vignemale, it is one of the most mesmerizing destinations to visit in France.
You can reach the lake via a cabin car or take a 15 min hike from Pont d Espange, the tourist entrance office.
The Glacial blue water is surely a treat to watch and a photographer's delight.
Lake Geneva
  • This Lake falls between two countries, France and Switzerland.
  • It is the biggest Lake in the Alps and Western Europe.
You can also rent boats here on the shore of the lake for sailing and boating.

Lac Du Mont Cenis
This Lake is an artificial Lake, made during the construction of a hydroelectric dam at Mont Cenis.
The Lake is located within France only, but it is close to the Italian border.
It is well-known for its stunning blue waters and green vegetation which it surrounds the lake.
Lac De Serre Poncon
  • It is the largest man-made lake in France.
  • It was built in 1960 and it is surrounded both by mountains and hills.
  • The Lake is also popular for various activities such as swimming, wind-surfing and sailing and camping on the banks.

Lac Di Capitello
Surrounded by huge mountains in the Restonica Valley, you can reach this lake by a hike which is a bit challenging.

Annecy Lake
One of the most cleanest lakes in France, it is situated in the Haute-Savoie region.
The Lake started forming gradually almost 18,000 years ago due to the melting Alps glaciers.

Lake Bourget
Located in the Jura Massif region in Savoie, (close to Swiss border) it is the largest natural lake of glacial origin.
The Lake is home to a large number of fish, owing to the varying climatic changes it experiences.
You can also plan a short trip as there are beautiful monuments, and gardens around this lake.
The most note-worthy is the Chambotte Mountain which promises magnificent views of the Lake.
