Germany is just like any other European nation―rich in heritage, continuously evolving with time, and exceptionally beautiful whichever time of the year you plan to visit it. The number of places you have visit while on trip to Germany is so large, that you have to make one trip just to visit the most famous places. In this article, we've aimed at just that.

Visiting Cologne is a must on your trip to Germany, even if it's only to see the Cologne Cathedral―the most visited landmark in the country. Also famous are the Twelve Romanesque churches. Now now. If you're thinking this is going to be a religious trip of sorts, think again. Cologne also has the highest number of pubs per capita in the country.

Known for its beautiful historical townscape, this town has a lot of interesting things to offer, that usually don't find a place among the must-see lists. But for seasoned travelers, a stop at Bamberg is a must.

The town's historic center is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Some other places you shouldn't miss here are the Bamberg Cathedral (13th century), the old Town Hall, Little Venice (beautiful fishermen's dwellings), Old Royal Palace, New Palace and its rose garden, and Michaelsberg Abbey.

Black Forest or the Schwarzwald is located in the southwest corner of Germany in the federal-state of Baden-Württemberg. Due to the various legends and anecdotes related to it, Black Forest has created a distinct identity for itself.

The unique black fir trees adorning the landscape also add meaning to the name. Skiing and watchmaking make this tourist place quite famous.

The UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Upper Middle Rhine Valley is an approximately 40-mile stretch that is famous for more reasons than just one. The area includes sixty towns and settlements, vineyard terraces, and forty forts and castles. Of equal fame is the entire geological landscape. This valley, which has been inhabited for centuries now, has always been an inspiration for various composers.

Though it has been quite some time since the historical Berlin wall was destroyed, even today, you can notice the stark contrast between the eastern and western parts of Berlin. A perfect mix of traditional and contemporary, this capital city has a lot to offer.

Some of the most famous attractions are The Museum Island, a UNESCO World Heritage Site; Charlottenburg Palace, the oldest surviving Prussian palace; The Brandenburg Gate, synonymous with German tourism since ages; and the Internationales Congress Centrum, which is the biggest convention center in Europe.
