Bardstown is also a historic town where nearly 50 historic sites are located and are frequently visited by tourists.
Berea
The town is situated a few miles south of Lexington and is popular for its art festivals, historic buildings, and restaurants. One such historical site is Berea College which was built in 1855. It is this region’s first interracial college.
Berea is also known as Folk Arts & Crafts Capital of Kentucky. For many years now it has become home to various types of artists like painters, musicians, weavers, and other similar artisans who support each other's work.

Among all the artistic events that are hosted here, Berea Craft and Celtic Festival are the most important ones. According to Outside magazine, the Pinnacles in the Berea College Forest is the best hiking spot in Kentucky.

Harrodsburg
This oldest city of Kentucky was founded in 1774 and is located in the Bluegrass Region. It is surrounded by countryside, horse farms, historic architecture, and culture.
The town is a historic downtown district and has been registered with the National Historic Registry. Tourists can visit Fort Harrod State Park, Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill, historic downtown, and other National Historic Sites of the town.
Paducah
The town was founded by William Clark of Lewis & Clark fame in 1827. It is located at the confluence of the Ohio and Tennessee rivers.
Paducah, one of nine Creative Cities in the United States, has been dubbed as Quilt City USA by UNESCO for its quilt and fiber-based artists.
People visit this town to participate in the annual QuiltWeek festival and visit historical sites-The National Quilt Museum, Historic Downtown, the Lower Town Arts District, Uppertown, and Midtown.

After the Revolutionary War, many locals wanted Kentucky to be its own state. So 10 constitutional conventions were held at the courthouse in Danville.
Finally, in 1792 Kentucky became the 15th state of the new Union. Today Danville is thriving for its historical sites, art galleries, museums, and first-rate restaurants.
Greenville
It is a picturesque small American town that was founded in 1799. It is located amidst western Kentucky’s beautiful forests and hills.
Tourists visit the town for beautiful heritage buildings, boutiques, theatres, restaurants, and warm hospitality from localities. There are some important tourist sites-Brizendine Brothers Nature Park, Lake Malone State Park, and courthouse.
The town was founded in 1799. The name came after the Scottish birthplace of one of its early settlers.
Glasgow
Ever since then, time and again the town is called Scotland of Kentucky for its annual Scottish Highland Games that have been taking place in the town for the last 30 years.
Glasgow has been ranked among '15 Best Places to Live in Kentucky' by Movoto. It is a beautiful town where people can visit Mammoth Cave National Park, the Diamond Caverns, the Brigadoon State Nature Reserve, and the Barren River Lake.
The town also has several historical sites like the Historic Plaza Theatre, Veterans Wall of Honor, Museum of the Barrens, and Fort Williams which will give a glimpse of the Civil Wartime.
Tourists love to spend their time swimming, hiking, camping, and doing other outdoor activities here.
Murray
According to USA Today, Murray is the friendliest small town in America. It is a gorgeous Southern town that is located a short drive from the beautiful Kentucky Lake.
Being located near the lake, the town has become a hot spot for recreational activities like fishing, hiking, kayaking, watching wildlife, and playing golf.
