The 7-mile stretch of white sandy beach is surely the main attraction here. However, there are several interesting things at Old Orchard Beach to make your holiday a memorable one.

Old Orchard Beach

This crescent shaped beach is the best place to hang out and have a relaxing time. Stay near the Pier if you want to have easy access to restaurants and bars as well as beach-related activities.

If solitude is what you are looking for, move away from the Pier on either side, and you would find a spot where you can enjoy the sea on your own.

The beach is a great place for swimming, making sand castles and relaxing. For those who are adventurous, water sports like surfing, kite surfing, windsurfing, paddle boarding and kayaking await you here.

Palace Playland

Old Orchard Beach is home to Palace Playland, the only beachfront amusement park in Maine. The park has more than 25 rides and attractions that would attract both kids and adults.
Thrilling rides like The Carousel, The Pirate and The Arcade at this park would keep you engaged and entertained. Do ride on the Ferris Wheel, where you would get some amazing views of the sea, the beach, the pier and the town. Two newly introduced coasters and thrill rides - Sea Viper and Wipeout would surely leave your family tingling with excitement!
Playland has restaurants that serve delicious food including pizza, fries, fried dough, etc. There are also gift shops inside the park. In short, it is a great place to have a fun day with your family and friends.

The Pier

The Pier is the most famous landmark on Old Orchard Beach. Jutting 500 feet into the Atlantic Ocean, the Pier is one of the liveliest places in the town. Lined up with seafood restaurants, party venues and nightclubs, there is a lot to do here.

It is also a great place to shop for clothes, swimsuits, surfing gears, etc. Craft shops as well as tattoo and henna parlors dot the Pier. Visit on Thursday night and you would get to view some unbelievable fireworks.

Funtown Splashtown USA

Funtown Splashtown USA is said to be the biggest amusement park in Maine. The amusement park offers some amazing rides like the wooden roller coaster, the Excalibur, Thunder Falls Log Flume, Dragon's Descent (drop tower) and Astrosphere (an indoor Scrambler). The park has family rides, kids' rides and thrill rides as well.
Splashtown is the water park with a swimming pool, adventurous slides and other attractions. Check out Poseidon's Plunge, Tornado, Pirates Paradise Aquaplay, Amphitrite's Challenge, Splash tube slide (Green) and Family Fun Lagoon to have the best time with your family, especially the little ones.

Pirate's Cove

If you love golf or have always wanted to take it up, the Pirate's Cove Adventure Golf in Old Orchard Beach is the place for you. A mini golf park, it has two 18-hole golf courses, one for young children and the other for adults. You would have immense fun playing golf while enjoying the series of small waterfalls, over footbridges and mountain caves.
