The Jungle Island is an 18.6 acre entertainment destination, situated on an island near Miami. This $47- million park that opened in June 2003, is a glorious array of over 3000 exotic animals and 500 plant species. Jungle island emerged and replaced the famous Parrot Jungle and Gardens of South Florida, that reigned from 1936.

With over 200 parrots at the Manu Encounter, which is the jungle's centerpiece, guests are entertained by the clever antics of macaws, cockatoos, etc. Also, the animal stage shows, jungle tails, petting farm, and the later addition of a water park featuring a 168-foot Hippo Slide, with an exhilarating 40-degree drop makes this place even more enthralling.

This is an outstanding zoo simply because it houses over 900 wild animals in a cageless setting, thereby, giving you the feel of a safari tour. What's even more amazing about this zoo is that the animals are placed in areas that resemble their natural habitat.

If you only have half a day or about 3 hours left to spend around Miami, then try visiting the Miami Seaquarium. This 35 acre oceanarium is known for its marine life shows that star several ocean mammals like dolphins, killer whales, etc.

Located on the Rickenbacker Causeway between Downtown Miami and Key Biscayne, this seaquarium offers breathtaking views of Biscayne Bay and Miami city. However, if you have been to Orlando's SeaWorld, this seaquarium may be disappointing. Nevertheless, you could go and enjoy what this place has to offer.

At this 37 acre county-run park, one can sniff and relish on more than 500 varieties of nuts, fruits, spices and various other exotic food items. Just imagine the glorious sight of lush green trees adorned with juicy, colorful fruits.

However, if you think you are going to wipe the trees off their lovely fruits, then forget it! No above-the-ground harvesting is permitted, which means you can only eat the fruit that have naturally fallen. For adults who love discovering new fruits and spices, this is the place to be!

This enchanting South Florida destination mystifies people because nobody knows how it was created. We only know that the man behind this wonder, Ed Leedskalnin, a Latvian immigrant created this coral castle under the cover of the night.

This 5 feet tall man single-handedly excavated, carved, and erected over 2 million pounds of coral rock without the assistance of any modern construction machinery. Since Ed died with all his secrets buried within him, nobody knows exactly how he went about this Herculean task.
