The Bahamas is a collection of islands in the Atlantic sea. It’s a Caribbean archipelago situated off Florida’s coast and famously known for its beaches and nice weather.
The islands have a total population of 319,000, and the most popular areas for expats to live are Abaco, Grand Bahama, and New Providence. The country has a total of 700 islands, but only 29 are inhabited.

According to national statistics, New Providence has the most inhabitants, which make up to about 70% of the total population.
The Bahamas is a major tourist destination and has about 2000 coral reefs that extend from Florida’s southeast coast to northwest of Hispaniola.

What you need to Know About Moving to the Bahamas and Becoming a Resident

If you are going there for the first time, you’ll need a visitors’ visa. To get this visa, just visit the Bahamian embassy and fill out the paper work. If you have been hired by a Bahamian company, you’ll need to apply for a long term visa. Make sure that you provide a letter from your new employer at the Embassy as you are applying for the visa.
If you want to become a permanent resident, you have to make an investment in the Bahamas. An example of an acceptable investment is purchasing real estate in the Bahamas.
