Pensacola is a city in the US State of Florida and is famous as a seaport. It is popularly known for the world's whitest beaches and is well known for outdoor adventure sports, beaches and museums.
Pensacola is always alive and ready to welcome you with delightful attractions. It has amusement parks, zoos, beaches, historical museums, sports, etc. The City of Pensacola, Florida, has many nicknames given by people. The US Naval Air Station which is the first in USA, is southwest of Pensacola and home to the Blue Angels flight demonstration team.
The history of Pensacola is rich and colorful, dating back 450 years. It was the first European settlement. It was under French, Spanish, British, Confederate States, and has been a part of US since the end of American Civil War. Wars, hurricanes, storms have been a major part of Pensacola's history. Here are the attractions of City of Pensacola, Florida.

National Museum of Naval Aviation

It's a military and aerospace museum at the Naval Air Station Pensacola, which opened in 1962, devoted to the history of naval aviation including the US Navy, US Marine Corps, and the US Coast Guard.
Currently, it has over 150 aircraft and spacecraft on display. The museum also has an IMAX theater, a museum store and a cafeteria. It is open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm everyday, except on days like Christmas, Thanksgiving Day, New Year's Day. The parking is totally free and so is the admission, though some exhibits inside the museum may charge for admission.
There are practice demonstrations by the Blue Angels that can be viewed from the museum, mostly on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, between March and November.

Pensacola Beach

It is an unincorporated community in the south of Pensacola. It is on an island that has spas, boutiques, fishing, scuba diving, golf, sailing, etc. The Quietwater Beach Boardwalk has restaurants, nightclubs, retail shops, street musicians, sidewalk artists.
It has a large seashell stage, where many concerts are held several times a year. Fort Pickens is another interesting place to see in Pensacola Beach. It is a historic military fort that was completed in 1834 and was used until 1947. It is a part of the Gulf Islands National Seashore and is administered by the National Park Service.

Sam's Fun City

It is an amusement and water park in Pensacola, with over 20 rides and attractions for kids of all ages. The Crossroads Arcade located here has the largest selection of arcade games, featuring 50 of the best games.
Sam's Surf City, a water park has over 12 water slides, a 1,200 feet 'Lazy River', and many interactive play structures for enjoyment. Sam's Fun City Hall is a 10,000 sq. ft. banquet space that can accommodate up to 5000 people in an event or gathering. It can be termed as a perfect family destination.

Historic Pensacola Village

It is a collection of 22 historical buildings and museums that is owned and operated by the University of West Florida. It is located in downtown Pensacola. The admission needs to be purchased for a week that includes access to the entire village and T.T. Wentworth Museum, and also a guided tour of many historical buildings.
The museum complex is open for visitors from Tuesday to Saturday, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Certain buildings can be rented for special occasions such as weddings, events, receptions, and birthdays. The village includes the Museum of Commerce, Weaver's Cottage, Museum of Industry, Julee Cottage, Lavalle House, Old Christ Church, etc.

Fort Barrancas

This is a historic military fort in Warrington area. It was non-operational from April 1947 onwards. It was designated as a National Historic Site in 1960, and control was transferred to National Park Service in 1971. It was finally opened for the public in 1980.

Veterans Memorial Park

It is a park built to honor all American Vietnam war heroes and contains the names of Americans who lost their lives during the Vietnam War. It is a beautiful tourist attraction whose maintenance is looked after by the Wall South Foundation and Vietnam Veterans of Northwest Florida.
These are a few interesting places that can be visited, but besides these there are many more places in the City of Pensacola which are worthy of a visit.
