Dalt Vila – A UNESCO World Heritage Site

Dalt Vila literally translates to ‘Upper Town’; this fortified town is situated on a small mountain near the sea and is the historical centre of the island.

The narrow lanes and alleys and the whitewashed buildings treasures a history that is 2,500 years old. It was built by the Phoenicians and has been occupied by successive rulers.
Meander through the gates of this historical site, take a guided tour and immerse yourself in the history of this place. Wear comfortable shoes and don’t forget your camera – there are plenty of photo opportunities.

Sunset at San Antonio

A trip to Ibiza is not complete if you have not spent an evening or two watching the setting sun in San Antonio. There is a west facing waterfront promenade popularly known as the sunset strip lined with cafes and bars where people head to, to get the best view of the sunset.
You can get a drink from the famous sunset bars Café del Mar or Café Mambo. As the sun goes down into the horizon of the bay, music fills into the air setting the scene for a lively evening.

Playa d’en Bossa

Among the most happening beach resorts on the island, Playa d’en Bossa has everything that you need for a perfect day at the beach. Rent a beach bed and relax or indulge in a number of watersports activities available here – banana boat riding, jet skiing or stand up paddling. Grab a bite and get a refreshing drink from the eateries around.
As the evening closes in, the place becomes the focus of the clubbing crowd with clubs like Ushuaia, Hi Ibiza, Sankeys and Bora Bora in the area. Enjoy the sun, sea and the sand by the day and party by the night to make the most of Playa d’en Bossa.

Talamanca

If you want to have a quiet day at the beach not too far away from the Ibiza town, then Talamanca beach is the place for you. The beach runs about less than a mile in a curve and makes for an excellent place for safe bathing.
And you can also induldge into a couple of water activities too. A wooden boardwalk runs through the other side of the beach and there are some excellent bars and restaurants nearby.

Platges de Comte

Also known as the Cala Conta beach, Platges de Comte boasts of a spectacular backdrop and three kinds of area to explore in one beach – two have sandy shores and one has a rocky coastline. With crystal clear turquoise waters, the beach is very inviting and one would want to spend most of the time here. Snorkeling is one activity you can try at the beach.
The water here is quite safe for swimming, however, don’t venture too far into the sea as the current can get strong sometimes. This is also a great place to catch up a spectacular sunset.

Formentera

Catch a ferry from Ibiza harbor to its sister island – Formentera situated about 20 km away. It is a piece of paradise with amazing azure waters and a stretch of white sandy beaches that are listed among the best beaches in the world. Spend your time lazing on the beach and soaking in the beauty of this idyllic place.
The water here is ideal for diving and snorkeling. If you are keen on exploring the interior of the island, rent a bike and get set go! The beaches here like the Playa de Ses Illetes, Calo des Mort are almost tropical in nature and are visited by celebrities and big names from the world over.

Island of Es Vedra

2 km off the west coast of Ibiza, stands the uninhabited rock island of Es Vedra. Made of limestone, it is about 400 meters in height and is a protected natural park. There are many myths and mysteries surrounding the island – one of which is that it is the third most magnetic place on Earth; though such claims are not scientifically verified.
The landscape of the rocky island is dramatic and there is some wild fauna to spot too. A ferry or a boat ride from Ibiza harbor or from San Antonio can bring you here. There are water sports excursions to try around the island.

Hike Sa Talaia

If you had enough of beaches and want to try something else, a hike up the tallest point in Ibiza is well worth a visit. Sa Talaia is in Sant Josep in Ibiza and is a 2.4 km uphill hike. The panoramic sight of the whole island that greets you at the top can take your breath away. The sunset view from the top is spectacular, so time your visit accordingly.
