Things to Do in Coron Island, Philippines

Coron, a cluster of islands in Palawan, Philippines is one of the most picturesque and photographed places in the country. It is widely known for its crystal clear waters, beautiful island beaches and for the sunken shipwreck from World War II at the bottom of the sea.
Coron has a lot to offer for underwater adventurers, diving enthusiasts and nature lovers.
Kayangan is worth a little hike it takes to reach the lake because once you are there, the emerald water and the beautiful view will leave you breathless.

The lake can get quite crowded, so prefer going early to enjoy its serenity.
Spots like the Skeleton Wreck and Lusong Gun Boat Wreck are where you can either scuba dive or snorkel from the surface and still clearly view the WWII Japanese wreckage of the ships and the coral reefs surrounding it.

Hiking to the top of Mt. Tapyas
It’s about a 750 stair hike to reach the top of the mountain, and the heat does make it a little difficult but the view on top is totally worth the climb.
Start your hike later in the afternoon so you can catch the most incredible sunset.
Maquinit Hot Springs
A little soak in the salt water hot springs might sound appealing to relax your muscles after all the hiking.
Island hopping is something that has to be added to the itinerary when you are in Coron town, as majority of the tourist spots are not actually in the town itself but a boat ride away on the different islands.
Banol Beach
Hop on a boat to reach Banol beach from Coron town and spend time sunbathing on the soft white sand or taking a swim in the crystal clear water of the beach.
Malcapuya Island Beach
Malcapuya island beach is another great spot on the local island hopping tours.
The island is approx. 800 meters long; its beautiful blue and green water and soft sand makes it a great beach spot to chill or go snorkeling.
Take a stroll through the local Coron market if you are interested in shopping for some fresh fish, fruits or veggies and stock up on water before going your day’s trip.

If you want to explore beyond the Coron town where majority of the things to do are located, a more fun touristy way would be renting a motorcycle and driving to all the local spots might be a wonderful idea.

Twin Lagoon
The two beautiful lagoons are separated by a narrow cliff and the water changes into different shades of blue.
The Twin Lagoon is one of those attractions that cannot be missed if you are a wild swimming adventurer.
