Picnic on the Cana Island
A beautiful island in Lake Michigan, Cana Island is a calm and serene place for leisurely walks and day-long family picnics. Don’t forget to climb up the famous Cana Island Light Station for some amazing panoramic views of Lake Michigan from up top!
Enjoy Water Sports at Cave Point County Park
One of the most quintessential landmarks of Door County, the Cave Point County Park boasts a lot of beautiful naturally carved rock faces along Lake Michigan’s tranquil blue waters.
This is a famous spot for diving, kayaking, and scuba diving.

See Sand Dunes at Whitefish Dunes State Park
The western shore of Lake Michigan is home to some of the most spectacular sand dunes in Door County. The 867-acre Whitefish Dunes State Park preserves them and also offers several adventure activities for visitors, like hiking, fishing, canoeing, boating, and swimming.
Explore Sturgeon Bay

Go Camping to the Peninsula State Park
The 3rd-largest state park in Wisconsin, Peninsula State Park is regarded as Door County’s most complete park. It has 468 campsites, a summer theater, golf course, sand beach, and several hiking, biking, & ski trails.
Don’t forget to visit its famous Eagle Bluff Lighthouse located near Peninsula State Park’s Fish Creek.
Visit Washington Island
About seven miles northeast of the tip of Door Peninsula lies Washington Island, home to the Death’s Door where Green Bay and Lake Michigan meet.
Take a walk on the Schoolhouse Beach, the most beautiful stone beach in Door County and don’t miss visiting the world-famous lavender farms; this will be the most memorable experience of your Door County visit!
Go Hiking to the Toft Point State Natural Area
If you are a hiking enthusiast, head to the Toft Point State Natural Area in Baileys Harbor, Door County.
This is one of the less-trodden natural areas in Wisconsin that features a one-mile linear hiking trails passing through beautiful cedar, hemlock, white pine, and sugar maple canopies.

If you’re visiting Door County between mid-July and mid-August, it is the peak cherry season in there.
There are so many cherry orchards in Door County, which offer ample cherry-picking opportunities for visitors.
While Sturgeon Bay is the cherry-picking hotspot, you can pick an orchard anywhere in the Door County and get the most fulfilling experience of your life.
