Filled with museums, churches and towers, San Marino is a city-state that's quite like Italy in some ways and in some ways isn't. What it is, definitely is a charming location to visit.
Sentiero della Rupe is a hiking path through Monte Titano, the mountain on which San Marino is located. The path will take you to the three famous towers one of which is not open to the public.
Gauita is one of the three towers on Monte Titano. Built in the 11th century, it offers amazing views of the countryside.
De La Fratta is a tower fortress. Located on the highest point on the mountain, so the views are magnificent and there's also a weapons museum inside.
San Marino Adventures is an adventure park where one can partake in fun outdoor activities. Recommended especially for kids.
Basilica Di San Marino is the main church of San Marino. Named after the republic's founder Saint Marinus, it is a beautiful church and depending on when you go, various celebrations take place here.
Cava De Balesterei is an open field where one can roam around. However the real draw is when archery competitions are held with archers dressed in 15th century garb and it turns into a theatre.
Museo Di Stato is the museum which tells the history of San Marino through paintings and archaeological objects.
The Museum of Torture, as the name suggests has various instruments that were used in Medieval times to torture prisoners. For exploring the dark side of the human psyche.
