However, to enjoy your stay in Bangkok you need to keep in mind a few things.
The best time to visit Bangkok is between November and February.
During these months climate would be relatively cool and dry.
Carry a woolen jacket or sweater if you are planning a visit to the mountains.
Pack only light loose cotton clothing and forget about tight fitting pants.
Dress mindfully when visiting temples.
Pack an extra pair of comfortable walking shoes.

Always carry with you the business card of the hotel of your stay. Ensure it has the nearest landmarks written on it.
While booking your stay in Bangkok, research well and book directly from the hotel's website. Avoid booking through third-party website.

Be wary of tourist price versus local price. Negotiate where necessary. If you are unhappy with the bargain, just walk away.
Invest in a fanny pack with strong belt and clasp to avoid pickpockets.
Wear your backpacks in the front and avoid placing anything of value in the front pockets.
Get into a taxi only after ensuring that the meter is on at the minimum charge, and after they confirm that they will take you to your destination. The better way is to use a taxi service app.
Consider taking the train to your destinations. You can choose the MRT subway or the BTS sky train.
BTS has a fixed rate for all age groups. While MRT rates vary as per the age and can be purchased at the ticketing office inside the station.
Negotiate the rates for a 'TUK TUK' before the ride, else skip it altogether. Tuk tuk is an optional transportation in Thailand.
While visiting the street side eatery, ensure that you pay immediately after you place the order.
Else you will end up paying extra for complimentary dishes you never asked for.
