2. Igreja de Santa Maria-Praça do Infante D. Henrique
This late 15th century church of St. Mary is worth a visit.
On display are a blend of architectural styles from different centuries of the past. An important feature is a statue of São Gonçalo of Lagos, an Augustinian saint.
3. Museu Municipal Dr José Formosinho
This museum is functioning since 1934.
The museum boasts of a scale model of Lagos, rich collection of religious art, the place's history dating from the Neolithic period onwards and more.
4. Lagos Marina
This spectacular marina is packed with water vehicles including pleasure vessels and fishing boats.

5. Forte da Ponta da Bandeira
The late 17th century maritime fort is strategically located at the mouth of the Bensafrim river.
Enjoy the views of the beautiful rocky coast and Meia Praia from the fort. Of interest to visitors is a modest 18th century chapel having attractive azulejos tiles.
6. Camilo Beach

Located near the town center, the pretty beach boasts of stunning rock formations. Popular activities here include viewing the amazing sunset and visiting the caves in the bay.
7. Lagos Fish Market
Grab super fresh catch from the local fishermen here.
The best time to visit is between 6am and 7am. The market has 3 floors and is near the Lagos marina.
8. Portuguese Discovery Wax Museum
The interesting museum boasts of 22 life-like wax figures of the highest quality.
The attraction is dedicated to Portuguese discoveries. Great opportunity to observe Portuguese historical characters and learn about the country's rich maritime history.
9. Mercado dos Escravos
This is a museum featuring exhibits that depict the history of slavery in this country.
The place is the venue of a permanent exhibition dedicated to the slave trade and the role this city played in it. The museum has been declared a Monument of Public Interest.
