Top 10 Smallest Islands in the World

It will be difficult to enlist islands based on their sizes; given the complexities in defining what an island is, and the number of islands present. However, we have complied a list of the world's smallest islands for you.
10. Saba Island
Located in the Netherlands Antilles, this island measures 5 sq. miles and is one of the hidden treasures of the Caribbean.
Filled with rainforests, there is also a dormant volcano called Mt. Scenery and the surrounding waters that are great for scuba diving.
9. Corvo Island
Located in the Azores in the Atlantic Ocean (territory of Portugal), Corvo Island is spread around 7 sq miles in area. Being a volcanic island, it is secluded where one can get to relax.
8. Sea Lion Island
Located in Falklands, this 3.5 sq mile island is remotely based. However, if one does visit, he will be introduced to not only sea lions, but also penguins and all sorts of different birds.
7. Isla Mujeres
Located near Cancun in Mexico, this island measures 1.62 sq miles in area.
With a lot of beaches and beach bars one is almost guaranteed to have a good time here. There is also a turtle sanctuary and remnants of a Mayan temple here.
6. Dangar Island 
Located in Australia, the area of this island is 71 acres. Much of the island is covered with forest, which makes it a popular tourist spot.
5. Mouse Island 
Also known as Muse Island, this is a private property with remarkable houses on it. Located at the mouth of the Mystic River in Connecticut, it has an area of 1.5 acres.
4. Hobs Island
The island is located in Connecticut and is a private property. That said, the owners here, have indicated the island may go for a sale sometime in the near future. The area is merely more than a half-acre.
3. Simping Island 
Located in Indonesia, this island with an area of less than a hectare, has been recognized by the UN as the smallest island in the world. Tourists can visit the small Chinese temple on the island.
2.  Bishop Rock
Bishop Rock, 0.14 acres in area, 
was unofficially named the smallest inhabited island in the world for years, due to the lighthouse situated on the island. However, the lighthouse became fully automated and now it's an uninhabited island.
1. Just Enough Room Island
This island is aptly named because at 30,300 sq. feet in length, it has just enough room for a house and a tree! 
Located in the North Coast of New York near the village of Alexandria Bay, it is currently the smallest inhabited island in the world.
