Located among some of the most stunning and unique geological formations in the world, St. George is a thriving community of approximately 100,000 people. 1. Hiking and Biking

Mountain biking is a popular activity in St. George for tourists and locals alike. There are miles of biking trails in the vicinity. If mountain biking isn't your thing, there are many things to experience the beauty of the region by going for a hike.
Zion National Park is less than an hour away, but even more nearby is Snow Canyon State Park. Located a few miles north of town, Snow Canyon has miles of hiking trails winding through sand dunes, volcanic cones, red sandstone cliffs.

Millennia ago, the area was home to ancient tribes of indigenous people who literally left their mark on the landscape in the form of petroglyphs, or rock drawings. You can still see these ancient works of art today at the Black Mountain Petroglyph Site.
Even before there were people in the region, the area of St. George was home to roaming dinosaurs. You can see the fossilized tracks of dinosaurs, the swim trails of fish, as well as life-sized recreations of the prehistoric creatures at the Dinosaur Discovery Site.

7. Enjoying Art and Architecture

Kayenta Art Village is a unique community near St. George where you can find studios and art galleries in the pedestrian-only area, as well as amenities, such as an outdoor café and a spa, that allow you to treat yourself while enjoying the artwork.
If you're interested in architecture, the LDS temple is well worth a visit. St. George is the area where the Mormons first settled in Utah and built a church. The temple is an imposing edifice occupying nearly an entire city block and situated on attractive open grounds. The general public is welcome at the visitor center open daily.
