Pangong Lake, also known as Pangong Tso is Tibetan for “high grassland lake.”

At a staggering elevation of 14,270 feet (4,350 meters) above sea level, Pangong is one of the world's highest saltwater lake.
Pangong is a landlocked area with no drainage or outflow, unlike other brooks that join rivers and oceans.

Things to Do
When I stepped out of the tent at night, I was swept-off watching the sky dazzling with stars.
During my visit, the bird-watcher in me was ecstatic to see many flocks migrating.
On my way up here, I crossed few signboards for Marmot, huge squirrels found in the mountains.
Pangong is almost at a distance of 160 km from Leh and passes through the world’s third highest motorable pass, Chang La.
How to Reach
Alternatively, you can reach Pangong through Nubra Valley passing Wari La, a high altitude pass located almost 17,400 ft high.
Altitude Challenge
A prominent challenge that come with visiting Pangong lake is altitude sickness.
It is advised to take at least a day’s rest before visiting Pangong.
Tip to minimize sickness is to avoid alcohol and smoking.
Other Factors
Carry all the necessary documents as it requires special Indian permits to reach Pangong.
Wide variety of accommodations are available for you to choose from.
Missing the local and traditional food at Pangong might give you major FOMO.
